A message from PAPA: Happy Summer June 14, 2023 Dear PAPA Parents and Students: I hope you and your families are off to a great summer! Summertime is a great time to practice our passions, try new things, rejuvenate and retire. I am lucky to have worked with a wonderful role-model and mentor for the last six years at PAPA. Ms. Chavez has laid a foundation for excellence that I intend to follow. Congratulations to her on her retirement and lucky for us, she will still be around supporting students in a role as mental health provider and instuctional coach. I want to encourage all PAPA students to keep reading this summer. The Bernalillo County Public Library has a great summer program that has kicked off including free workshops and reading incentives. https://abqlibrary.org/summerreading I also want to share an interesting podcast I came across from an episode of Chasing Life with Dr. Sanjay Gupta and his discussion with the Surgeon General about whether social media is safe enough for children and adolescents. As parents and people that work with students I found the discussion to be relevant and informative. All returning and incoming 7th graders will need to be up to date on the Tetanus/Diptheria/Pertussis (Tdap), and the Meningococcal (Men C). The office will be closed the week of July 3rd. We wish all our staff and students a happy and safe Independence Day. Please save the date for fiinal student registration. Please check the website and look for an email in July with a sign-up genius for you to reserve a registration appointment.
