  • We encourage our PAPA community to make a difference in our community by performing a good deed(s) in honor of the National Day of Service, 9/11 Day. Here is a resource for parents: https://911day.org/parents/

  • The office has free COVID tests for you. If you would like one please stop by the front office. These tests are good through February 2024.

  • Progress Reports are being sent home with students today. Please check backpacks and PowerSchool for this mid-quarter check-in. This is the 1/2 waypoint to the end of the first grading period. PAPA operates in quarters. Two Quarters plus final exams make up the semester grade. Semester grades are what are posted on transcripts and qualify students to be eligible for both the Junior Honor Society, and National Honor Society. Students who earn As and Bs at the end of the quarter are invited to our traditional ice cream social.

  • Next Wednesday is 8th period Lite Day. (8/23/23, 9/20/23, 10/18/23, 11/29/23, 1/24/24, 2/14/24, 3/13/24)

  • Attention PAPA students and staff: Introducing PAPA Paw-positivity awards! We invite you to notice students who are engaging in acts of kindness, helpfulness, and overall positivity. You can now nominate these students by completing and submitting a simple form, and at the end of each month, we will select one lucky winner and reward them handsomely! Nomination forms can be picked up from and dropped off to the front office. Catch each other being awesome; we’re so excited to hear all the wonderful things you’ll do!

  • September is suicide prevention month and to honor it, NHS will be participating and volunteering at the suicide prevention walk on September 30th, from 7 a.m.-2 p.m. at Hoffmanmantown Church. We welcome you to join us and invite family and friends.

  • The National Honor Society invites you to donate canned foods from September 11 – 15. Bring canned food to your first-period class to be donated to the Road Runner food bank or storehouse. The class with the most donations will win a special state fair theme prize. Happy donating.

  • Please note that the use, possession, and distribution of alcohol, drugs, tobacco, smokeless tobacco products, electronic cigarettes, mood-altering substances, and illicit drugs at all school-sponsored events both on and off campus are prohibited. Please keep this in mind when you pick up, drop off, or attend school events and concerts.  Thank you.

Health & Wellness

This week PAPA students are studying decision-making and substance use/abuse prevention. As children move through middle school and high school, they experience a greater number of opportunities, challenges, and decisions. The goal for us as a village to raise children is to help nurture and guide them and to become healthy individuals and eventually healthy adults. Although we would like our children to make good decisions, that doesn’t happen all of the time. Many times, it is how we recover from a not-so-great decision that teaches us what we are about and allows us to learn valuable life lessons. An article from Edutopia is a great, quick read https://www.edutopia.org/article/making-good-choices-in-middle-school/.
