  • The safety assessment done at all APS school sites includes improvements to school safety and security. The installation of security gates and cameras has been in the planning since 2020. You will see security improvements to the campus when you drop off and pick up. These new additions will take time to get used to and I’m sure we will “PAPA-fy” them and decorate them soon.
  • The tabletop games group meets every Monday in Rm 8 for fun and games.  Come join us during Middle School lunch in Mr. Bear’s room.
  • Origami Club will meet During Lunch every Wednesday (MS and HS)-get your lunch and come to Rm 16.
  • The official PAPA Beyblade club will hold meetings every Thursday during HS lunch in room 7. The final Thursday of the month will be bracket style tournaments. Let it Rip!
  • GSA- We strive to provide a safe space for LGBTQIA+ people and their allies to learn and thrive. Whether you’re attended before or it’s your first time, please come join us in Room 8 during lunch! (Nov 6, 7 Nov 20, 21 Dec 4, 5 Mondays, Tuesdays every other week)

  • Inclement Weather at PAPA: PAPA follows its own policies and procedures with regard to delays and closings. If APS delays or has asynchronous snow days DISTRICT WIDE, PAPA will cancel school for the day.   If APS delays or cancels East Mountain schools only, PAPA will be in session. Residents of the East Mountains can make informed decisions with their own safety to come to school on time or delayed.  Parents/Guardians must report absences to the attendance phone line or email attendance@paparts.org Local radio & television stations post APS delays and school closings.
  • Every year we get a count of how many students intend to return to PAPA next school year. The number of students who do not intend to return then determines how many seats we have available for the lottery. The Intent to return is available on our website and here: https://forms.gle/QeoUYPqDt7MTsyFq5.
  • Please let us know if you will be returning to PAPA for the 24-25 school year. If we do not receive the form we will mark you as declined and give your seat to another student. The deadline to submit is 12/15/23.
  • If any senior is interested in getting paid while you train for a career in HVAC, plumbing, etc. through our local TLC company, please stop by Mrs. Walker’s room #24 and put your name on the list.  If we have enough interest a representative from TLC will come to the campus and give you all the information.
  •  Congratulations to this month’s PAWSITIVITY winners, Ashley Barondyk and Ewan Stuehrenburg. Thank you for spreading your kindness and good character. Thank you to everyone who was nominated, keep nominations coming!  PAPA Paw-sitivity awards are selected each month! We invite you to notice students who are engaging in acts of kindness, helpfulness, and overall positivity. You can nominate these students by completing and submitting a simple form to the front office. Catch each other being awesome; we’re so excited to hear all the wonderful things you’ll do!

International Volunteer Day:

International Volunteer Day is held each year on 5 December. It is viewed as a unique chance for volunteers and organizations to celebrate their efforts, to share their values, and to promote their work among their communities.  If everyone volunteered, the world would be a better place.  Imagine more than eight billion of us volunteering. Limitless possibilities for sustainable development – food and education for everyone, clean environment and good health, inclusive and peaceful societies, and more!  It is also a time to recognize how vital our volunteers are:  Thank you to all the PAPA clubs, teachers, staff, parents, and students for the time and energy they donate to their communities.  Share your volunteer experience or recognize someone on your socials using the hashtag #IfEveryoneDid.  If you haven’t volunteered, check out our announcement board in the West Hallway for opportunities at PAPA, or go to https://www.oneabqvolunteers.com/need/
