Intent to Return

Every year we get a count of how many students intend to return to PAPA next school year. The number of students that do not intend to return then determines how many seats we have available for the lottery. The Intent to return for is available on our website and here https://forms.gle/QeoUYPqDt7MTsyFq5

Please let us know if you will be returning to PAPA for the 24-25 school year. If we do not receive form we will mark you as declined and give your seat to another student. The deadline to submit is 12/15/23.

Health & Wellness

In addition to gratitude and kindness, November is Diabetes Awareness Month.  The American Diabetes Association estimates that over 37 million Americans have diabetes and nearly ½ of Americans are either diabetic or have prediabetes.  The group of diseases that impacts how your body uses glucose (blood sugar) is called diabetes mellitus.  Glucose provides energy for the cells in your muscles and tissues and is your brain’s main source of fuel. Diabetes can affect almost every part of your body including brain, heart, skin, kidneys, nerves, and ears.

All types of diabetes can lead to excess sugar in the blood.  Too much sugar in the blood can lead to serious health problems.  Types 1 and 2 are chronic diabetes conditions.

Warning signs of diabetes include: frequent urination, excess thirst, feeling hungry even though you are eating regularly, extreme tiredness/fatigue, blurry vision, slow healing cuts and bruises, weight loss, tingling, pain or numbness in hands and/or feet.

In many cases, it is possible to reverse the downward spiral from prediabetes to diabetes.

Prediabetes happens when blood sugar levels are higher than normal, but the blood sugar levels aren’t high enough to be called diabetes. This can lead to diabetes unless steps are taken to prevent it.

Below are steps you can take now to prevent diabetes: eat healthy foods, exercise regularly, and lose excess pounds.  Please take time to look at the resource below.
