Please note that the use, possession, and distribution of alcohol, drugs, tobacco, smokeless tobacco products, electronic cigarettes, mood altering substances and illicit drugs at all school sponsored events both on and off campus are prohibited. Please keep this in mind when you pick up, drop off or attend school events and concerts. This includes parents as they attend events, pick up and drop off students. Thank you.

Being on time is important.  Tardies- reminder you must be in your class ready to work when the tardy bell rings, some students are walking in after the tardy bell. Teachers mark these students tardy unexcused unless they have a signed pass. If students have been tardy to your class 3 times or more, please make a plan with them to get to class before the tardy bell and call their parents to let them know their plan.

Restrooms are for business only, do not take your phone to the bathroom. Get in and get out! No loitering, vandalism, hanging out, skipping class, smoking or making out. The rest room is a dirty place and needs to be cleaned more than once a day and if you are in there for more that 10 minutes you will be called to come out.

PAPA’s PTSO is asking for donations of gift cards of $10 or MORE to fill bags for our fun and very popular Mystery Bag fundraiser at this year’s PAPA Bam-BOO! Please bring your donations to the front office and let them know that they’re for the PTSO. If you have any questions, feel free to email papaabq@yahoo.com, and thank you for your support!

The official PAPA Beyblade club will hold meetings every Thursday during HS lunch in room 7. The final Thursday of the month will be bracket style tournaments. We are also accepting donations in the form of old beyblades or arenas. Let it Rip!

Want to volunteer or chaperone for field trips, fundraisers, dances or special events, you will need to complete a background check. Please follow directions for completing the background check form. Once we receive your cleared background check we will add you to a list and notify you about opportunities for volunteering. Background check form is available on our website under for the Forms tab.

All Sophomores will be taking the PSAT/NMSQT October 18th. The PSAT/NMSQT is now digital! The test is easier to take, shorter, has more time per question, and comes with a built-in calculator. It can also qualify you for the National Merit Scholarship Program and other scholarships. Successfully meeting the college readiness benchmark will satisfy graduation testing requirements. All sophomores will need to come to school ready for testing by 7:45 am 10/18/23 to get breakfast and get situated in your testing rooms.

PAPA is hosting a Vaccine Clinic on October 30th. Now is your chance to get any vaccines you may be missing or even get a headstart on vaccines needed next school year. They will also be offering Covid vaccines. Please see Ms. Griego for consent forms or if you have any other questions.

Inclement Weather at PAPA: School Closing. Local radio & television stationspost APS delays and school closings. PAPA follows it’s own policies and procedures with regard to delays and closings. If APS delays or has asynchronous snow days, PAPA will cancel school for the day.

Attend our next meeting at PAPA at 7:15am on Thursday, November 9, 2023 as we discuss ways to raise funds for new instructional facilities and a PAC.

Do you love carving pumpkins? Do you enjoy a good competition? PAPA’s NHS will be having a Pumpkin Carving Contest! Your carved pumpkin will be due the day before BAMBOO and will be displayed on the day of BAMBOO, where it will be voted on! Don’t spill your guts – but the first place winner will be receiving a special prize! So bring your pumpkins – bring your creativity – and most importantly bring home that first place prize!

It also serves as a reminder that we are all empowered with shaping the communities around us through positivity, bravery and strength. Day 2 – It’s Red Ribbon Week! Live Drug Free.TM The theme is a reminder that by staying drug free, you are sending a message to yourself and others about how much you value yourself, your overall health, your community and your future. One thing’s for sure…by making healthy choices, like staying drug free, you are much more likely to achieve your goals. So aim for the stars! We believe in you. Day 3 – Happy Red Ribbon Week! This year’s theme is Be Kind To Your Mind. Live Drug Free.TM Staying drug free means investing in your current and future health. You don’t have to use drugs to fit in. There are other ways to belong. Celebrate your uniqueness and show it to the world. Day 4 – Be Kind To Your Mind. Live Drug Free.TM – That’s this year’s Red Ribbon Week theme. [INSERT SCHOOL NAME] loves our students and we want you to lead happy, healthy, fun and wonderful lives. We know that by making healthy choices, like staying drug free, you are more likely to live the best life for you. So, take a moment to commit to yourself that you will continue to make healthy choices to ensure a brighter future. You won’t regret it! Day 5 – It’s the last day of Red Ribbon Week and we want to thank you for your participation in supporting healthy, drug free lifestyles. Save the Date

Save the date for the annual school carnival Panda Bam-Boo October 20th from 4:30-7 pm The Bam-Boo is our annual fall carnival that funds clubs, organizations, and PTSO teacher supplies. The PTSO is a 501(C) (3) non-profit organization and all donations are tax-deductible. Please support our students and the arts by helping us with this fundraiser and community event. Thank you!
