Announcements

Please note that the use, possession, and distribution of alcohol, drugs, tobacco, smokeless tobacco products, electronic cigarettes, mood-altering substances, and illicit drugs at all school-sponsored events on and off campus are prohibited. Please keep this in mind when you pick up, drop off, or attend school events and concerts. This includes parents as they attend events, and pick up and drop off students. Thank you.

Being on time is important Tardies- reminder you must be in your class ready to work when the tardy bell rings, some students are walking in after the tardy bell. Teachers mark these students as tardy unexcused unless they have a signed pass. If students have been tardy to your class 3 times or more, please make a plan with them to get to class before the tardy bell and call their parents to let them know their plan.

Students stay clear of the delivery area on Wednesdays and Fridays. It is an unsafe area for you to walk through as the drivers do not see you, and we do not want you to become road kill.

Restrooms are for business only, do not take your phone to the bathroom. Get in and get out! No loitering, vandalism, hanging out, skipping class, smoking or making out. The restroom is a dirty place and needs to be cleaned more than once a day and if you are in there for more than 10 minutes you will be called to come out.

Health & Wellness

PAPA’s mental health/social emotional learning focus for October is bullying prevention, digital literacy and substance use prevention.  PAPA’s focus supports national initiatives because October is National Bullying Prevention Month and Red Ribbon Week is national drug/alcohol use prevention week from October 23 – 31.

Our mental health staff will push into Language Arts classes mid-October.  The focus for middle school will be bullying prevention.  During class we will discuss bullying, what it is and what it is not, how to prevent, intervene, decrease bullying, what to do if you are being bullied, and how to recognize mean and/or bullying behavior in yourself.  We will also talk about types of gossip and how to stop gossiping. The high school focus will be on the physiological and emotional impact of substance use and abuse.
