PAPA remains committed to the safety and well-being of all of our students. This includes the protection of student educational records, FERPA. We will never allow unscheduled guests to come to campus or pull out any student without explicit permission from the parent/guardian. Thank you for bringing your ID when you pick up your child early.

Possession or distribution of tobacco products, e-cigarettes, nicotine liquid containers, alcohol, mood-altering substances, and illicit drugs in school buildings, school premises, and away from school grounds at school-sponsored activities is prohibited for all. This includes students, staff, and families.

Please remember to drive slowly and obey all speed limits around the school, especially during drop-off and pick-up times. Even if you are running late, safety comes first—there is no need to speed.  Additionally, please be mindful not to block neighborhood driveways when parking or waiting. Let’s work together to keep our school community safe and respectful.  Thank you for your cooperation!

Hello PAPA Middle Schoolers! We have a new lunch group called the “Bamboo Buddies” that will be happening every Monday and Tuesday in Ms. Padilla’s office during middle school lunch. This is a place to eat, chat, relax, play games, and make new friends. So bring your lunch, and we may have some snacks for you as well. See you there!

We will be enjoying lunch outside and soaking up some vitamin D! After you eat, get your blood flowing by walking, throwing a football, shooting baskets, or even dancing.  Remember, whenever the temperature is above 40°F, we’ll be eating lunch outside. Dress accordingly and make the most of the fresh air!

Students, this is a reminder to take good care of your school-issued Chromebook. This means not putting stickers on it, not drawing on it, and being careful not to close any papers, books, or notebooks inside the Chromebook when you finish class. If you put items inside the Chromebook, it may leave a black line and damage the screen. Take time to put your Chromebook away in your backpack in its case before you leave class.

The LAST spotlight of the school year will be THIS Thursday!  Auditions are TODAY – Monday, April 28 in the East Dance Studio during Middle School and High School lunch, and the show is THURSDAY – not Friday!

8th lite are times when teachers can collaborate together in professional learning communities, on these days, there are no 8th-period classes except for study skills. If you are enrolled in an 8th-period class and cannot get picked up after 7th period at 3:18, NHS will host a study hall in the cafe. 8th period lite days are: 4/30.

PJHS invites you to squeeze the day with our lemonade sale every Friday after 7th and 8th period near the west parking lot! Each cup is only $1  and includes your choice of flavors and fruits to make it extra special.

Le Chanteuses is raising funds with a clothing drive! Bring your clean, non swimsuit/underwear donations to your first period class through THIS Friday. The class that donates the most will win donuts!

Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week is coming up—May 5–9!  Each day, our dedicated teachers and staff work hard to support and care for our PAPA students.  Please take a moment to think about how you might show your appreciation. A kind note, a thoughtful gesture, or a simple “thank you” can go a long way and truly make a difference.

5•7•10 RULE

● Five unexcused absences: When a child has accumulated five unexcused absences, school personnel will arrange a meeting at the school with the parent or legal guardian to discuss the unexcused absences. A plan to improve attendance will be developed and implemented.

● Seven unexcused absences: When a child has accumulated seven unexcused absences, school personnel will arrange a second meeting at the school with the parent or legal guardian to review the attendance plan and discuss the impact of truancy on the future of the child. At this time, the child may enter into an attendance contract requiring him or her to attend school regularly, or other consequences may be applied (i.e., removal from PAPA to attend the child’s home school in the case of transportation issues).

● Ten unexcused absences: If a student has accumulated an equivalent of ten or more unexcused absences within a school year, the parent shall be given written notice by personal service or certified mail that the student is habitually truant and is not in compliance with the Compulsory Attendance School Law. At that time, the student shall be reported to the probation services office of the judicial district where the student resides for an investigation as to whether the student shall be considered to be a neglected child or a child in a family in need of services because of habitual truancy.
