Red Ribbon Week

This week is Red Ribbon Week, a national campaign that encourages students to live drug-free and make healthy choices. Red Ribbon Week began in 1985 in honor of DEA agent Enrique “Kiki” Camarena, whose dedication to keeping communities safe inspired millions of people to take a stand against drug misuse.
Today, Red Ribbon Week is the largest drug-prevention awareness program in the nation, reaching more than 80 million people every year. According to the National Center for Drug Abuse Statistics, about one in eight teens reports using an illicit drug in the past year — a reminder of how important awareness and support are in keeping our communities healthy and safe.
National Honor Society is encouraging students to embrace all the healthy ways to follow your passions and live life to the fullest. If your passion is singing, sing your heart out! Performing artist are passionate about their craft and community. We encourage all our PAPA students to hold a boundary and say no to drugs and alcohol and yes to rehearsal, practice, and performance.
