Working as an Actor/Extra
Hello all,
We had Kathy Brink, one of the best casting directors in the business, talk to us yesterday during the workshops at PAPA. She gave us so much incredible information and many tips on how to nail that audition.
Also, it was great coverage for PAPA. She will be thinking of us when the next Lemonade Mouth (Disney) comes through town. If you didn’t know it, she cast many PAPA students in that film years ago. We held the audition on the PAPA school campus.
Those who took the workshop can contact her at kbrinkcasting@aol.com for questions you might still have.
Here is the list of SAG (Screen Actors Guild) agents in Albuquerque that she suggests if you are looking for an agent or even how to create your headshot:

I am also listing two awesome resources, the ABQ Film Office and the NM Film Office. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE read these links about acting BEFORE you contact any of the agencies. Also, SAFETY FIRST. Always have your legal guardian with you and NEVER pay to be an actor. You agent will take a 20% cut and you will need to pay for headshots. But don’t pay anyone to be in a commercial or film. That is a scam and there are lots of them out there.

How to be an Extra – FilmABQ
filmabq.com 1. Create a Head-Shot Information Sheet. First, you should create a head-shot information sheet. Completely fill out this template and add a photo of yourself. The photo does not have to be professional you can take it on your phone. |
Remember at all times to be professional when reaching out to these resources. It is still a very small industry and they have long memories. You must show up on time and prepared. You must dedicate yourself to the project.
Your school headshot will work at first (remember we changed our format for school pictures so they were more professional). Once you get more work, you will need to get professional headshots.
You are not only representing yourself as an actor, you are also a PAPA student. Your behavior will reflect on all of us. Make us proud.
Good Luck,
Su Hudson
