Dear PAPA Families,

Pursuant to PED and DOH guidance, we are informing families that there was a COVID-positive case on campus earlier this week.  We have notified any potential close contacts.  Hourly and nightly disenfection, mask wearing, hand washing and social distancing safety protocols are securely in place. If your child does not feel well, please stay home.  In addition to being steadfast with COVID-safe protocols, vaccinations are essential to get control of the spread of the virus.  As I stated yesterday, our goal is to keep everyone safe and keep the school open!  If you or your child have not received the vaccine, we are hosting a clinic on Friday, August 27.  Please fill out a form before tomorrow to reserve your spot!!

Dear PAPA Families,

The first week of classes went well and it is exciting to see our students back in person!  Students are doing a great job acclimating to the new school year.  Below is a list of items to keep you informed about PAPA happenings.

COVID Safety – Our goal this year is to do our best to remain in person.  This means all students need to wear masks indoors and practice COVID safety protocols such as frequent hand washing, disinfecting surfaces after use, and maintaining social distance.  Currently 57% of PAPA students are fully vaccinated! We want to increase this number as higher numbers of vaccinated students help decrease the spread of COVID.

  • COVID Vaccination Clinic – If your child has received their COVID vaccine and you have not provided documentation, please send it to the front office or email to  PAPA will host a COVID vaccination clinic for any unvaccinated students, ages 12 and above, on Friday, August 27 during school hours. Please complete the attached form to register your child. Please print the form, fill it out and return it to the office by THIS FRIDAY, August 20.  We have copies in the office if you need one.
  • Surveillance Testing for Unvaccinated Students – the Public Education Department and the Department of Health ask that 25% of unvaccinated students participate in weekly surveillance testing. We will send an email to you if your child is selected to participate in surveillance testing that week.

Breakfast and Lunch – PAPA’s breakfast and lunch menus are posted on our website in the “About Us” section and under “Food Services.”  We encourage all students to eat school breakfast and lunch.  Breakfast is available at 7:30am each day.  All meals are free this year! Please encourage your child to get breakfast each day!

PAPA Open House – Save the date!  PAPA’s Open House is Tuesday, August 31from 6 – 7:30pm. We will give parents the opportunity to visit with your child’s teachers to hear general information about the course.  The Social Emotional Learning Team will have an optional mission-setting meeting at 5:15 pm. PAPA’s PTSO will be selling refreshments.

20th Anniversary T-Shirts – PAPA’s 20th Anniversary t-shirts sold out during registration!  Please see the attached form to pre-order yours!

Registration Drawing Winners – Congratulations to the winners of PAPA’s Registration Drawing — Santana (grade 6) and Cassandra (grade 10)!  Thank you for attending registration!

Please email if you have any questions.  See you soon!

8/18/21 Good Morning PAPA Families,

Your child has been selected to participate in COVID surveillance testing for this week. Here is a link to current testing sites. Please sign up for a test as soon as possible, take your child to the test (preferably outside of school hours), and provide the results to the school. Covid test results can be sent to Students that are not fully vaccinated (10 days after 2nd dosage) are on the surveillance roster and will be invited to participate in testing. If your child had a COVID test this week, you do not need to get them another test, just send in the results. If your child is fully vaccinated already, please send their vaccination record to school so we may take them off of the surveillance roster. We hope to be able to provide rapid COVID tests on-site in the future that will not require you to take students to a testing site.  We will share this information with everyone once/if this is available. Thank you for your partnership in education and health.

Thank you.
