A message from PAPA: Announcements Week of 3/28/22
The Public Academy for Performing Arts Governing Council is seeking to fill 2 possible positions. Interested candidates are encouraged to submit a letter of interest that details why you are interested in serving on the Governing Council as well as background information and skills that you feel are relevant to the needs of the Public Academy for Performing Arts. A complete resume is also required. Please submit your letter of interest and resume to: Michael Power, Chair, Governing Council Nomination Committee no later than April 13, 2022. Nomination committee interviews will be scheduled shortly after the April 13, 2022, deadline.
The COVID infectious rate on campus for the last three weeks is 0%. If your child has COVID like symptoms please keep them home and contact the front office for current guidance. 505-830-3128. If your child has had a COVID vaccine or booster please bring their card to the office so we may make a copy for our records. You can also email a picture of it to info@paparts.org.
Dayna Diaz Award Community Service Award Application closes April 6th – Submit applications to the front office. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1GTxzakZewthoI5uiwNTOHQoBw2QLuKpYEoZCuItVNMQ/edit?usp=sharing://docs.google.com/document/d/1GTxzakZewthoI5uiwNTOHQoBw2QLuKpYEoZCuItVNMQ/edit?usp=sharing In addition to serving as a student ambassador in at least one PAPA event during the school year, the recipient of this award must be a student in good academic and behavioral standing (academic standing based on New Mexico Activity Association guidelines and behavioral standing with no discipline referrals during the current year). It will be presented to a student or students who consistently demonstrate qualities of compassion for school peers and members of the greater community. The recipient(s) must have provided unpaid service during the current school year for at least (2) two organizations not affiliated with the school. Community service is not limited to performing arts, although it is highly encouraged. Award recipient(s) must also attend at least one community-based workshop, conference or event promoting social justice, diversity, safety, non-violence, or healthy habits. Staff, students, or community members can nominate students for this award. A nomination form is available in the office. A committee assigned by administration will determine the award recipients.

Are you interested in starting a band, being a part of a band or learning what being in a modern band is all about? If you have played an instrument for at least a year and are interested in continuing your study of your instrument or voice then we have a class for you next school year; Modern Band. In this class you will form your own band to play the type of music you like. You could make a Mariachi Band, a pop band, a rock band, any kind of band you can imagine. See any music teacher or Mr. Opperman for more information and to sign up for Modern Band.
