A message from PAPA: Announcements Week of 10/17/22

  • Were you left FRENZ-less after missing out on Thespian Troupe’s last fundraiser? There’s no need to boo-hoo; we have a frighteningly exciting opportunity for you! Thespian Troupe will be selling François’ Frenz October 24th- 28th, while supplies last, including limited edition Trick or Treat Surprise Packs. Get them for yourself and your ghoul friends. François’ Frenz and Trick or Treat Surprise Packs will be delivered during 5th period classes on Halloween. Happy haunting!
  • The PAPA PTSO is still in need of gift cards for our mystery bag fundraiser at the PAPA BamBOO on Friday. We will be accepting gift cards with a minimum value of $10 until Friday afternoon.Please bring them to the office and label “PTSO Mystery Bags”. Thank you for your support, and see you there!
  • Group Photo Day (This Tuesday 10.18.22) is a super fun day to show off all that you do at PAPA. We will be calling for your elective classes, your after school PAPA groups, Student Council, NHS, and any other cool group project here at PAPA to get a group photo for the 2023 yearbook.
  • Climate crew meets every Thursday during Middle school lunch from 12-12:20 in Mrs. Cunningham’s room-room 11. Anyone interested is welcome to join us.
  • PAPA Students can go see UNM Theatre and Dance Shows for only FIVE DOLLARS! Use the code UNMtheatreanddance (all one word) either online or at the ticket window on UNM campus. Check out the schedule of shows in the MS and HS Google Classroom.
  • 8th Period Lite. No 8th period classes, study hall provided for those that cannot get picked up after 7th period. October 26th, November 16th, December 7th, January 18th, February 15th, March 15th, April 19th
  • This Friday, October 21st is our school Panda BamBOO Carnival from 4:30 pm-7:00 pm.  Come and support the many clubs of PAPA and have a scarily good time! Bwaaahaahaaaa Pumpkin carving contest, costume contest, games, cake walk, haunted house, freaky Frito pie and so much more! $10 admission includes 10 tickets A family package of 5 or more pays $40 with 10 tickets each. Kids 4 and under are admitted free with 5 game tickets. Additional tickets are only 50 cents each. Donations Needed We are in need of many items for the carnival including gift cards, candy and more.   • If you are participating in the pumpkin carving/decorating contest you can bring your fully decorated or carved pumpkin to the main office Friday morning when you come to school or have it brought into the front office before 4:00 pm to be entered into the contest.
  • Are you ready to get your scare on? PJHS and Student Council are excited to host the middle school masquerade ball; Friday October 28. Tickets are $10 a person and will be sold during MS lunch. Light refreshments will be served. Please make sure to fill out the song request form on the middle school google classroom. You can decorate a mask at the event or get one painted on!
  • Calling all burrito lovers. Foil your dinner plans and stop by the Chipotle at 6810 Menaul Blvd NE in Albuquerque for our fundraiser on Saturday, November 05 from 4:00pm – 8:00pm. We’re raising money to support Public Academy For Performing Arts School PTSO, so just download a flyer from the link below or mention the fundraiser at checkout and they’ll donate 33% of the proceeds to the cause!
  • Next week NHS is sponsoring Red Ribbon Week and hosting a different dress each day.  We will send out a list of each day’s dress later in the week. Students can chose to dress along with the schedule or wear red in support of being drug free. It will also be posted on the middle school and high school google classrooms. There will be an opportunity for students to sign a pledge to say no to drugs during lunch next week.
  • PAPA is participating in a pilot program for a mental health app called Alongside. Here is a video that demonstrates the utility of the app, https://www.alongside.care/videos/demo.  Here is a description of the app Alongside.  Students are able to utilize the app if they log-in with their school email.
