Often referred to as “The Black National Anthem,” Lift Every Voice and Sing was a hymn written as a poem by NAACP leader James Weldon Johnson in 1900. His brother, John Rosamond Johnson (1873-1954), composed the music for the lyrics. Lift Every Voice and Sing was promoted by the NAACP as a black anthem in 1917 and was performed live before the Super Bowl LVII yesterday by Sheryl Lee Ralph. The Center for Innovation in Behavioral Health and Wellness is hosting 4 monthly online workshops from 4:00-5:30 PM every third Wednesday of the month beginning February 15th. Seniors if you were admitted to UNM and plan on attending in the fall; a representative is willing to come and guide you through the next steps of your enrollment.
