|We’re very excited to reach out to you today about the Roots Summer Leadership Academy (RSLA). We use the arts to teach leadership and self-esteem for students aged 8-16.
The camp, now in its sixth year, is open to all and we do have scholarships and sliding scale payments available. We need your help to get the word out to your students and parents about this tremendous opportunity.
About The Camp
RSLA was founded in 2012 by Albuquerque native, Dr. Stephanie McIver, Clinical Psychologist and Cathryn McGill, Founder/Director, NM Black History Organizing Committee as a means of teaching children self-esteem and the principles of leadership in a fun, interactive environment. Our staff and faculty are degreed professionals and are considered experts in the positive youth development/out of school time enrichment arena.
We intentionally keep the cost of the camp low and provide scholarships to reach as many students as possible. We host our camp on the beautiful campus of the First Unitarian Church of Albuquerque. Hours are 9:00am – 3:30pm daily.

information about the camp.
We will be reaching out to you in the next few days to find out if you have students that you think may be a good fit for our camp. Please feel free to share this email widely among your network.
