PAPA Celebrates Black History Month!
As we continue to celebrate Black History Month, we want to introduce you to a special woman who is a wonderful example of creating change in the world through personal education, creativity, and commitment. Meet Marian Rogers Croak, a former Senior Vice President for application and services infrastructure for AT&T. Ms. Croak has been granted 100 patents with an additional 100 under review with the US Patent Office. She managed over 2,000 world class engineers and computer scientists. Ms. Croak grew up in New York City and went to college in California where she attended Princeton University and University of Southern California and earned a PhD in social psychology and quantitative analysis. Ms. Croak’s father influenced her success when she was a child by pushing Marian to pursue her passion for science through as many creative ways as possible, including allowing her to build a chemistry lab in their home. Ms. Croak’s work has impacted AT&T’s enterprise, consumer, mobility services leading to the creation of new apps and services. Her quest for human rights has her sitting on the board of the Holocaust and Human Rights Educational Center in New Jersey. She also was inducted into the Women in Technology Hall of Fame and was honored with the 2014 Black Engineer of the Year award. Ms. Croak now works for Google where she is the Vice President for Engineering. Pursue your passions!

Stop and Smell the Roses and Carnations
High school student council will be selling carnations and roses for Valentine’s Day delivery. You can buy your flowers in Ms. Blackwell’s room during Mid or High school lunch. The cost is $2/ carnation or 3 for $5, and $3/ rose or 2 for $5.

PAPA High School Theatre
“Romeo! Romeo! … For real, though, where is this dude, Romeo?!?” PAPA High School Theatre is presenting “Romeo and Juliet” this week TONIGHT, Friday, and Saturday at 6pm in the PAPA Cafe. Tickets are $5 cash at the door. Seating is first come first serve. Come watch Shakespeare’s best known Romantic Comedy turned Bloody Tragedy. PAPA’s production of “Romeo and Juliet” has it all: heavy metal, teen angst, love, slow motion fight sequences, death. So mark your calendars and tell your friends. You won’t want to miss it!
Friday, February 8th (yes that’s tomorrow) is the end of the Progress Report grading period. Grades are due by 8:00 am on Monday and Progress Reports will be sent home with students Monday afternoon.
This Valentine’s Day is going to be MUSHY; Middle School Student Council is officially sold out of Squishies! Thank you to those who purchased Mushy Grams- they will be delivered during 5th period on Valentine’s Day.

PAPA Spirit Gear
PAPA Parents, Students & Alumni! There have been several requests for “PAPA” logo clothing so we now present to you: “Spirit Gear” will have the following items available for purchase until the end of February. All sales are online. Items will be delivered to the school free of charge after Spring Break or can be delivered to your home for an additional shipping fee.
Your school, group or team logo printed onto spirit wear t-shirts and other custom garments. Mascots and logo artwork free for elementary school, middle school, high school as well as teams and groups.
Tickets for 5 6 7 8 : the PAPA Spring Dance Concert are on sale now! Tickets may be purchased online, by phone or in person at the NHCC box office, NOT at PAPA. This show will sell out, so get your tickets now!
