Support and Volunteer

SUPPORT AND VOLUNTEER!!  WE NEED YOU!!


It is extremely important as a Charter School that we have the support of our parents!  There are many ways to show your support of PAPA students and the school community.  Please make it a habit to check the website daily for important news and general information.  We will update the calendar on a regular basis in an effort to keep you posted on PAPA events and deadlines.  Other ways you can show your support include:

  • Checking your child’s current status on Power School on a regular basis.
  • Communicating often with teachers (e-mail seems to be most effective) if you have any concerns about your child’s grades, behavior, attendance, etc.  You are encouraged to communicate as soon as you see a negative change.
  • Please have your child to school on time every day, well-rested, with breakfast, homework finished, and ready to learn.
  • Communicate your suggestions to school administration, GC members, or the PTSO officers.  We want your input!

By working together, we can provide your child with the best possible education opportunities!


Volunteerism is also imperative to Charter School success.  The goals of PAPA volunteerism include:

  • Increased parent involvement in the education process.
  • Improving communication and expanding school programs to include the greater community.
  • Providing needed assistance in classrooms, around the school environment, and at school events.
  • Working together to fund and improve all school programs and the school environment.


A school volunteer is a person who donates time, energy, or talent to various aspects of the school community under the direction of school personnel.  Volunteers may assist in the following ways:

  • Advocacy/Advisory – serving on committees or task forces; advising on special projects; consulting on certain issues.
  • Instructional Support – curriculum and classroom-related activities; motivational programs; materials and program development; enrichment programs.
  • Support Services – cafeteria, health, clerical, instructional materials, and audiovisual services.
  • Support Groups – Being involved in support groups such as the PTSO or the Performing Arts Academy Foundation.
  • Special Occasions – Volunteer for special activities such as fundraisers, performances, campus clean-up, open houses, etc.

PLEASE DON’T HESITATE TO OFFER YOUR TIME AND TALENT TO THE PAPA COMMUNITY!!
